"Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood"

Acts 20:28

Pastor Ron Brown

Browns Bio

I was born in southern California and raised mostly in Olympia, Washington. I came to faith in Jesus Christ as a young child and committed my life to full-time ministry during my later years in High School. I graduated from Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland Oregon, where I met and married my lovely wife Stephanie. Following college we moved to Dallas, Texas where I attended Dallas Theological Seminary. Six and a half years later, with four young sons, we moved to New England where I directed the youth ministry at a Christian camp and conference center. After four wonderful years of ministry we moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where I served as Youth Minister at Faith Bible Church.

The experiences of ministry in New England as well as in Oklahoma at a great Bible teaching church served as excellent preparation for the role of pastor at Calvary Bible Church where Stephanie and I have been since 2003. In 2019 I had the privilege of studying for and recieving a Doctorate of Ministry in Expository Preaching through the Master’s Seminary in Southern California. Calvary Bible Church is a great family of committed followers of Christ, and a wonderful place to worship and serve the Lord.

My wife, Lisa, and I were both raised in southern California and moved to Idaho in 1984 to establish our family. We began attending Calvary Bible Church in 2001 and have served in various roles and ministries in the Church. We both enjoy children and have a passion for youth ministries, and have been actively leading the AWANA Club at Calvary Bible for many years. We enjoy the fellowship at Calvary Bible and all of the activities with the friendly people that attend here. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, biking, camping, gardening, and otherwise just hanging out with my family and grandkids.

My wife, BettyAnn, and I have been at Calvary Bible Church since 2006. I have served on the Board of Elders here since 2011. My goals for Calvary Bible Church are to glorify God in all His Holiness and present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who don't know Him. I can help do this in my capacity as an Elder through servant leadership and sound doctrinal teaching. I enjoy leading evening Bible studies and adult Sunday School classes. I have been the church treasurer for the past several years. I like to spend time road, mountain and tandem bike riding along with attending as many of my six grandchildren's activities as possible.

My wife, Susan, and I reside in Bellevue where we raise our six children. During the summers our family likes to explore the Wood River valley with either bikes or hiking. In the winters we like to ski at the resort and occasionally put the snow shoes to good use.
